On Thursday, December
17th 2015, we had a Skype conversation with our pen-friends from India.
I learnt a lot of new facts about India. Among them is that India is made up of 29 states. The national language of India is Hindi. The symbol of India is Bengal tiger. The temperature doesn’t get lower than +80C and now in most states of India the temperature is +260C. So there is no snow in many areas of India in winter.
The name of the town, where our pen-friends live, is called Kharagpur, West Bengal. People speak Bengali in this state, but at school children speak English. The population of Kharagpur is over 300,000 people. The nature and the animal world is varied and unusual.
Around the town and not far from it there are rainforests. In rainforests there are a lot of beautiful butterflies, monkeys etc. Moreover, there are a lot of monkeys in the town, too.
The school of our pen-friends is very beautiful, spacy and clean. All the rooms are very light. The lessons start at 7:25 AM and are over at 13:30 PM. There are 8 lessons every day. One lesson lasts 40 minutes. Children learn 12 subjects. There are around 60 children in every class. Also every school in India has its own name and anthem. I heard the anthem of the school and of India. These anthems are sweet and melodic. Also I know that the author of Indian anthem is Rabindranath Tagore. The words of anthem tell us about the beauty and unusual places of India.
Also I know Indians like to eat spicy food on holidays, but on week days they prefer to eat usual food.
All in all, India is a very beautiful country with many interesting customs, traditions and culture. I want to Skype with my friends from India once more!

On
Thursday, Dec.17, we had an unusual lesson of English. We knew a lot of
interesting information about India, because we spoke with children from
India.
Our new
friends live in Kharagpur. It is in the state of West Bengal, India. Its
population is 300,000 people. In this state people speak Bengali, but the
official language of the country is Hindi. The country has a very beautiful
anthem. The author of this anthem is Rabindranth Tagore. A lot of
different animals, such as monkeys, tigers, elephants, snakes, spiders
live in this area. The weather is good all the year round. Now the temperature
is +28 degrees and the lowest is +8 degrees. They don't have any snow in the
winter. I heard that they have very spicy food. But they have very spicy food
only for holidays. In everyday life they don't eat spicy food. This children go
to school and in one class they have 68 children. School starts at 7 am
and ends at 13 o'clock.
I hope we will continue our communication and know more about our friends and
their country.
